Diane Discepolo has loved to dance all her life. Inspired by her father who had a spinal cord disease and family member who had MS, Diane was looking for a way to share her love of dance with all people of all abilities. Diane found wheelchair dance when she went looking for a way to help a young friend who became disabled after an accident. Diane is a certified ballroom and wheelchair dance instructor. In addition, Diane also teaches ballroom dancing to the developmentally disabled. She is the Educational Coordinator working in the school settings.
JOHN NYEMCHEKDANCE DIRECTOR
John Nyemchek is Roll Call’s Examiner & Dance Director. A World Class Adjudicator with the National Dance Council of America & the World Dance Council, John is a Fellow & Examiner of the N.A.D.T.A. and a certified Wheel Chair Instructor. He is a former United States Junior & Amateur, American & International Style Champion, and a former United States10-Dance Champion, who represented the United States in many World Championships. John is the co-author of the Hustle Technique Book and Bronze Hustle Video Tape. As a founding member & performer of the American Ballroom Company, he has performed worldwide. John is a co-owner of Nyemchek’s Dance Centre in Pearl River, NY and co-organizer of The Yankee Classic & New England & World Masters DanceSport Championships, which are held in Boston every June.
JAMIE NYEMCHEK-STAROPOLIASSISTANT DANCE DIRECTOR
Jamie Nyemchek is Roll Call’s Assistant Dance Director & Choreographer. She has performed in Disney World’s Magic Kingdom & Epcot Center, at Six Flags Great Adventure, at the March of Dimes walk-a-thon, with the Nets Dancers, and she was in the Nutcracker on Broadway. Jamie was also a COA National Cheerleading Champion. Jamie holds teaching degrees with the North American Dance Teachers Association (NADTA). She is a certified member of USA Dance and the National Dance Council of America. Jamie is registered as a Championship Adjudicator, Chairman of Judges and a Scrutineer with the National Dance Council of America and she is a certified wheelchair instructor. Jamie is certified in Zumba and Zumbatomic and she is a member of the ZIN network. Jamie completed her bachelors degree at Dominican College and her masters degree at Long Island University. She received a Bachelors of Science in Education with a concentration in Mathematics with a certification in First through Sixth Grade and Special Education. Jamie received her Masters in Literacy, Birth thru Grade Sixth and is currently teaching in the Nanuet School District. Jamie is a co-organizer of “The City’s DanceSport Challenge” which is held in New York City in December annually since 2011.
